01 立夏用(yòng)英语怎么说

中(zhōng)國(guó)的 24 节气中(zhōng)的“立春、立夏、立秋、立冬”，英语大多(duō)称為(wèi)Start of Spring/Summer/Autumn/Winter，也就是，四个季节的“开始”。英语中(zhōng)的“开始”这个概念，除了称為(wèi)start、还可(kě)以用(yòng)beginning来表示。把节气中(zhōng)的“立”称為(wèi)start，似乎主要是追求形态上的简洁，所以选择了5个字母的start, 而不是9个字母的beginning。

02 立夏的由来

立夏始于每年格列高里历（即阳历）的5月5日前后。太阳黄经达45°，立夏标志(zhì)着季节的转换，是农历夏季开始的日子。此时，我國(guó)大部分(fēn)地區(qū)气温明显升高，农作(zuò)物(wù)进入生長(cháng)旺季。

The Start of Summer usually begins around May 5 in the Gregorian calendar. It marks the transition of seasons and is the day when summer starts in lunar calendar. During that time, the temperature in most places in China has an obvious increase. It is the best time for grains and crops to grow.

在周朝，帝王会率领群臣举行迎夏仪式，并激励他(tā)的子民(mín)们抓住关键时期干农活。据说庆典仪式多(duō)以朱色装(zhuāng)饰，帝王和文(wén)武百官着朱色礼服，戴朱色玉佩，乘朱色马匹，举朱色旗帜，恭敬虔诚，向夏神祈求丰收。

In the Zhou Dynasty (1050-221 BC), the emperor led his officials to stage a welcome rite for the Start of Summer and encouraged his residents to seize the key time to do farm work. It’s said that most of the decorations were arranged in the color red, including the emperor and the officials’ dress, the jade pendants, the horses and the flags, in order to show respect to the god of summer and pray for a good harvest.

03 立夏趣味习俗

在古代中(zhōng)國(guó)，人们相信圆圆的鸡蛋象征着幸福的生活。立夏吃鸡蛋是一种对健康、幸福的祈愿。人们把用(yòng)剩的茶叶和鸡蛋放在一起煮熟，这就做出了最初的“茶叶蛋”。后来人们改进了烹调方式，加入香料使鸡蛋更加美味。如今茶叶蛋已成為(wèi)中(zhōng)國(guó)的一种传统小(xiǎo)吃。鸡蛋也是一种有(yǒu)趣的装(zhuāng)饰。立夏节气，家長(cháng)会准备一个小(xiǎo)编织袋，把鸡蛋装(zhuāng)进去挂在孩子胸前，以求保佑孩子身體(tǐ)健康。

They put leftover tea into boiled water together with eggs and the original “tea egg” was created. Later people improved cooking methods and added spices to the eggs to make them taste delicious. Today tea egg has become a traditional snack in China. Egg is also something interesting at the Start of Summer. The parents will prepare a bag, put the egg into it, and then hang the bag on their child’s chest to bless the child with health.

在學(xué)校里，孩子们聚在一起玩“斗蛋”游戏，即用(yòng)自己的蛋与他(tā)人的蛋碰撞，蛋没破即取得胜利.

When at school, children gather together to play egg competitions by colliding each other’s eggs in pairs and the one whose egg is not broken wins.

这天，人们会挂起一杆大秤，秤钩悬上一条凳子，老人和孩子们轮流坐(zuò)上去称重。司秤人一面打秤花(huā)，一面说吉祥话。
